There have been many actors who have done simple roles, worked as villains and also become comedy actors. The actor would become whatever the demand of the film was but Kader Khan left the work of villain. When he was questioned on this, he once told what was the reason for becoming a comedian from a villain.
Why did Kader Khan turn from a villain to a comedian?
Many years ago, there was a show on Zee TV called ‘Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai’. Its host was Farooq Sheikh and for some time Suresh Oberoi. Kader Khan came in one episode and he was asked that you were doing good work as a villain, then suddenly you turned to comedy actor and then remained in that, what is the reason behind this?
Kader Khan had replied to this, ‘My elder son Sarfaraz has always been a short-tempered person. Since childhood, when he would return from school, he would often be beaten up because he would have had a fight with someone or the other. I used to ask him what happened, why do you fight so much with everyone. At first he would not say anything but later he said in anger that everyone calls me the son of a goon.
Kader Khan further said, ‘They say that your father gets beaten up by the hero and they make fun of you and me. This thing got deeply embedded in my mind and I decided in the 90’s itself that I will not do any such film which will cause problems to my children. After this, I started acting as a comedian and thank God that people gave me a lot of love in that role too.’
